About Us

Materials Science and Technology Society of Nigeria (MSN) is a charitable, non-profit, learned and interdisciplinary professional society. The objectives of the Society shall be to advance and develop all aspects of the science, engineering, technology and use of materials; the study and practice of materials science, engineering and technology; the dissemination to the public of knowledge related to advancement in engineering materials and to encourage and coordinate education therein.

Our Core Objectives

The object of the Society shall be to advance and develop all aspects of the science, engineering, technology and use of materials; the study and practice of materials science, engineering and technology; the dissemination to the public of knowledge related to advancement in engineering materials and to encourage and coordinate education therein.

In pursuance of the objects herein defined, the Society may:

• Assess, promote, encourage, undertake or organize research in materials science and engineering;

• Organize exhibitions, meetings, lectures, conferences, workshops and examinations for the benefit of materials science, engineering and technology professionals;

• Support career development of members at all levels by providing facilities for their enhancement;

• Forge special relationships with government and public for the appreciation of the special role of materials in technological development;

• Affiliate or become affiliated to any national or international scientific and/or professional body of similar objects to those herein defined; and may acquire and undertake all or any part of the assets, liabilities and engagements of any such body which the Society may lawfully acquire.
